A new management term was introduced today: summer action. I think the intention was something like: "Please do some work during the summer months to get this project off the ground". Sounds similar to summer sale, which I think means: "Yes, we know you are on holiday, but we have to pay the rent anyway.".
What I think is real summer action is to continue the meeting on a terrace with food, drinks and nice colleagues. At some point my portable, which has a special terrace mode, got into the equation, inspiring even more summer action plans. Sigh.
My real summer action is a trip to the ICCS conference to present our Detecting Knowledge Flows in Weblogs paper (with Robert de Hoog, Rogier and Lilia). The weather looks ok, so I'll cycle to Kassel. I also hope to have a chance to cycle around in the area above Kassel were the Grimm brothers wrote their fairy tales.
