My chess club has reached the finals of the regional chess cup. This would be totally uninteresting except that I'm playing in the final and you will be able to watch the games live on the internet.
The technology behind this is that special chess boards are used. These boards contain sensors, and software translates physical movement of a piece to a logical move which is then forwarded to a computer which translates it in a chess diagram. The technology is provided by DGT projects.
Games start 19:30 CET tomorrow (Tuesday 26th) from here (updated link).
After the game. Hopefully you enjoyed the game, I certainly did and won. The team drew the regular games 2-2 and the blitz tie break was also drawn. The opponents received the cup on aggregate scores.
Good Luck!

Congratulations! Sorry I missed it (it was during my running training, that's a good excuse I think ;-)

Carla,
Sure that is a good excuse, the technology is more interesting than my level of chess :-). The technology is really nice, chess lovers in the region really appreciated the event.
